UFC 75 - London, England
Quinton "Rampage" Jackson unifys UFC and Prides 205lb. belts. In a back forward, up and down fight. Quinton showed that he has improved his skills within the clinch. After being demolished by Wanderlei Silva and Maurico "Shogun" Rua with knees from the clinch I had no confidence that he could hang with Dan Henderson. Even with Henderson scored with the occasional takedown Quinton would find a away to reverse it and (or) get back to his feet. Jackson also showed the ability to last five rounds and still look crisp.
My only reservation is that if there is no Pride how can there be a Pride champion.
I wonder if Dana White, moments after the fight, took the Pride belt and encased it in glass. Forever to be displayed as a token of his conquest over his formal rival signifying total dominance of MMA
I would like to see Rampage recieve the Pride belt and personally hand it to Wanderlei Silva. Until he defeats Wanderlei I don't see how he can be considered Pride champion.
So what's next for Rampage. Shogun, Wanderlei, Liddell are all rematches. Tito Ortiz might be a good fight. Whoever Rampage fights he'll be getting his Chedda.
AWOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
